Blue Dandenongs & Puffing Billy

Puffing Billy steam train, an original steam train locomotive and one of Victoria's most unique attractions. You will delight to the sounds of the whistle and the steam as you ride Puffing Billy through the forest. Located just a short drive to the east of Melbourne, the beautiful Blue Dandenong Ranges are home to colourful native birds, fern gullies and tall mountain ash eucalypts. Make a visit to the quaint mountain village of Sassafras.

Victoria had its gold rush during the 1850's and many of our towns sprang from the goldfields. Ballarat is a fine example of a town that prospered on gold.

Sovereign Hill is an internationally renowned heritage park on the site of the richest alluvial gold rush in the world. You will have time to explore Red Hill Gully diggings, the Gold Museum and the fully operational township...wander down Main Street, ride a stagecoach, talk to the blacksmith, try some homemade sweets! Devonshire teas are available at the New York Bakery or a good hearty lunch at the United States Hotel (own expense).

Australian Wildlife

The Ballarat Australian Wildlife Park is a high standard fauna reserve which encourages active participation in meeting native animals. A guided tour of the park will introduce you to wombats, koalas, Tasmanian Devils, goannas, lizards, emus, crocodiles and much more. You'll also have the opportunity to hand feed kangaroos.

 Mt. Buller

Mt. Buller is one of Australia's premier ski resorts. The ski fields are vast, covering all four sides of the mountain and caters for all levels of skiers, from gentle beginner slopes to spectacular double black diamond chute; plenty of options also exist for non-skiers.
